this is to my pregnant daughter, whose baby shower is tomorow. She and her husband have been so helpful and understanding in my time of pain and rejection.

Child-like chuckles still dance in your eyes,
though youre grown with a life of your own.
Your inner child still plays, although somewhat disguised
By the scent of your big-girl cologne.

And now inside you, your miracle of life
is finding its way toward the world.
You are a fine woman, and the very best wife,
But youll always be my little girl.

You have two kids inside to nurture and care,
Two to coddle and praise every day.
Two to love, and two for your prayers.
One will be out soon; the other will stay.

The child outside will want all of your day
Hell whine and need to be fed.
Hell need a warm bath, and hell wanna play
When youre tired and going to bed.

But rememember to care for of both of them well
You have two differing lives to mold.
Raise one to grow up, the other to stay small
Youll be blessed by both when youre old.
