oh wow!
Hello, my beautiful family!
it's been so long since I've checked in........... where does the time go!
I hope you've all been well, as well as can be.
updates on my stuff, I'm doing ok......... still have days........... but I imagine that will last forever.
Not sure if I wrote, my stepdad passed away in November.......... it was a long battle and was expected sooner or later. My mom handled it with grace and dignity. She is the strongest woman I know.
In April, it was my Brother Mike's 1 year. I took the day off, just to remember him. I miss him so much. I go to message him, then I remember, I go to call him, then I remember............. why does it have to be so hard to remember........
Let's see........ oh Bob and I got married! to that was joyous....... we got married at the top of the stratosphere at night. It was so very lovely. I don't have pictures with, but I'll be sure to post some. We went over Christmas time. Seemed to be the right time, we got married December 26th. The same day as my mother and father (although theirs didn't last... ours will)
My brother Don has recovered from his stroke, he sometimes still has memory issues but he's doing well. thank god.
My little sister is on the run from the law .......... again. She has turned to drugs again in her life, her parental rights are in the process of being terminated this time, which is for the best for her kids. My cousin has taken her youngest 2. Bless his heart.
We bought a house............. we closed on it this past Wednesday. We have our bed there and all of the kitchen stuff so far........... we're getting new carpet on the 15th so have to wait until the other furniture goes in.
I'm torn about Brandon's room............ I'm still not able to go in there. Still not able to go to the cemetery either.
I will have to put on my big girl pants and get it completed sometime in the next few weeks.
My mom is doing really well, considering all she's been through in the last year or so. she's so strong. She stays with my aunt often. In a week, she's going on a trip to Pennsylvania. I'm so happy that she's getting out.
Brandon's 2 year is next month. I really haven't had time to even think about how it has impacted me this year. Keeping myself busy seems to help.
I've missed all of you, and I'll try to do better with checking in more often.
I see the big trip is being planned........ how wonderful!
Not sure if she was a part of this group or not........... Ruth Britt, the mother of Angel Bobby, passed away yesterday. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers.
Love and hugs to you all.
Lisa

Congratulations on your marriage and finding a new nest. All of these blessings indeed and your mom\'s ability to still get around and do some things that she enjoys.
Two years is still so very new on this path and you are doing your best so when you need to sort through Brandon\'s belongings please be so very gentle with yourself. I know many of the moms have found having someone to help them makes such a difference so that they are not facing it alone. Our son had so few belongings that what he did have we gave many to his friend\'s, donated and kept just a few. How we face this is as unique as we are so easy does it with yourself for sure.
Appreciated reading about all of life\'s happenings, Lisa, and gentle care. Is your cat still using the potty? I will never forget that one?! :)
Hand in hand, Heart to heart,
XO Joanie
Kudos to you on so many things..... I so understand about \"the room\".... Morgan\'s room has not been changed,,, it\'s 6 years,,, I do go in but to water plants and we keep things there sometimes,,, but her room stays,,,,love ya!
Thank you, ladies. I\'m sure I will need some help with Brandon\'s room, that will be a LONG day. My husband has been so supportive. Yes, our crazy kitty Stewart still uses the potty............ he\'s a pro now! Just this morning I gave him a small truck the boys use to play with when they were little (found it while packing) he bats that thing all over the new house. It\'s so funny! He\'s been a savior to me, that\'s for sure!
Oh wow Lisa! It is great to hear from you.
You said you mom was the strongest person you know. They say the apple doesn\'t fall far from the tree. I think you have inherited her strength. It sounds like you are weathering the storms with grace.
I am so sorry about your sister. My heart goes out to her and your family.
Congratulations on your marriage! I wish you a long and happy life together.
Stewart sounds cool. I wish you could teach Yuki to use the toilet! Scoop at our house does not mean Dairy Queen!!
Wishing you peace and strength as you work on Brandon\'s room. It is sooo hard.
Love and tight hugs, M
thank you honey! yes my mom is the strongest person......... she is a warrior. I wish we had a close mother-daughter type bond. It\'s never been there, although she now tells me she loves me every time we talk. The warrior in her has softened over the years. When us kids were young and at home, she was our drill Sargent . seriously.......... you never messed with mom. That is just her and I\'ve learned to accept it, accept her, for the way that she is. She is my mom and I love her, and she know\'s i\'m here for her if she so chooses. I choose to be here when I need support, for someone that \'gets it\'.. My Husband has been my biggest rock............. he\'s seen the ugliness of this journey and still chose to stick by me. He may not always know what to say or do, but those hugs from him comfort me when I need it. I know in my heart I will see Brandon again someday on the other side..........and I get comfort in that.
Training Stewart was a LOT of work............. and now the hubby wants to get another kitty............ I FIRMLY said NO! that\'s funny about the scoop! made me giggle. I miss all of you. I need to check in more often.
Love and hugs!
Lisa
