Hooray, Hooray - Labor Day weekend starts today!  smiley-cool.gif  I have been so looking forward to this since Memorial Day.  It seems that Cape Cod gets worse every year with overcrowding, traffic jams, and bad attitudes.  A couple of weeks ago I had an appointment that was 8 miles from my door.  I left my house a half hour before hand, and I was 40 minutes late!  It took one hour and ten minutes to drive 8 miles!  There wasn't an accident or road construction or any reason why my pace was under 15 mph or at complete standstill for almost the entire way.  It was simply because there were so many tourist trying to get to the beaches.  This isn't an unusual occurance around here, and I was kicking myself for forgetting that this happens every day that it's good beach weather.  Sitting still in the 85 degree heat - trapped in my car - I looked around at all the other drivers who were trapped with me.  There was no "back road" to get to where I was going.  I thought about how awful it would be if someone had a medical emergency.  They would die waiting for help.  Or what if you had to use the bathroom?  There isn't anywhere to even run into the woods to go behind a bush!  I looked at the others around me, noticing how most of them had out of state plates - and/or carloads of kids bouncing around in bathing suits.  This can't be fun!  How is this a "vacation"?  Don't these people learn.  I want to make a bumper sticker that says "the Cape has exceeded maximum capacity - please leave and tell all your friends".

I am so looking forward to cool weather.  I just love to go for walks when the air is "crisp" and I really need to get more exercise.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I loved my cape cod tunnel permit. I actually saw one on a car here in MO. My friend in Sandwich says the bicyclist are getting to be pushy and awful. My time in Centerville was while attending 4 C\'s so other than the 4 yrs at Otis I usually missed the traffic. Funny though the Sunday night traffic went all the way to the South Shore and beyond. Enjoy the nice weather minus some of the folks.
