Yesterday was the most excellent day I've had in a while.  An old friend that I haven't seen or heard from in about 37 years came to my house for a visit.  She and I had a lot of similar challenges in our lives.  We both became single mothers at 17 years of age, both had sons, and both had a lot of trials trying to raise our boys.  We talked for hours and then took a drive to see my husband and tour the museum he works at.  I was a lot of fun catching up and I really felt a lift in my spirit and outlook.  She is going away for the summer, but we made plans to connect again in the fall.
