It's been a while since I posted here. I've just been caught up a whirlwind of stuff n things - ups and downs. Good news: My skin has healed except for a couple of scars that may fade in time. I got a strange little dot on my forearm the other day - about the size of a dime. It was very red and bumpy in the middle and white and puffed up around it and I thought - Oh no! poison ivy again. I washed it with some stuff that's supposed to take away the oil and the itch. Treated it with Aveeno lotion a couple of times and it's all calm and healing now. Either it wasn't p.i. or I caught it in the nick of time. In either case, I'm grateful.More good news - the dolls on my web site have gotten noticed. I got an offer yesterday to have my work featured in a doll maker's magazine. I had to put that off because I haven't got anything to show after my long lapse in creativity, but just to be asked was pretty special.Bad news: We recently paid $760 to repair one of our two old cars. It's only worth $1100. at best, so this was a difficult decision, but now it's back in the shop, needing more repairs that are estimated at $600, and worse yet there are two more expensive problems that are on the verge of happening very soon. So we're thowing the towel in. We had a couple of leads on other old cars we could purchase, but due to logistical problems it will be a while before we have two cars again. Now our other car is a 1988 - almost antique, and it's not going to do well with having to do a 50 mile round trip commute to my husband's work every day. This also makes it ridiculous for me to drive him to work so I can use the car. There is a bus he can take, but the schedule isn't good and it's a big hassle for him. Irritating news: I was scheduled for a physical on Monday and had to move heaven and earth to be able to get there because of the one car thing. After several calls to the health center to confirm and reconfirm, I got there and they had scheduled me with the wrong provider. The doctor they had me with is just a temp for the summer overflow so I really ought not have a physical with her - I should have it with my primary care person. I was orginally scheduled with my primary care person, but somehow THEY switched the appt. to this other doctor. The end result was that I had to reschedule my physical - it's now on August 6th. What a PITA!In spite of this - I feel pretty much okay mentally, and as long as that piece is in place I can tolerate all the physical junk a whole lot better.
