7 Days!
I Like looking at the number of days sober. I can't wait for that number to hit over 100. I will log on here more.
I can also see that people will respect me more and this will give me strength. I have had an injury lately and I hope that in a week I can start training again. This will only increase my motivation.
The big part that I am doing this is for my health (of course).... But is is also to prove to my family and friends that I am strong and am not the alcoholic that I once was.
When I read peoples posts that have stayed off the drink for years, they seem so much happier. In the end, drinking did not make me happy but rather all I cared about where my next drink would come from. I was always a happy drunk - never aggressive but I just got sloppy and that is not attractive. I must remember that.

The first 14 days are tough. After that the physical dependency wains. Then you only need to deal with the obsession to drink This is where will power comes into play. If you have one drink the compulsion takes over. Willpower goes out the window. You want to take a second one etc.
I find the neuroscience behind alcoholism fascinating.
