7/20/09 HORRID DAY!
Had to put my beloved Francis down. She has been growing increasingly ill since last July (pic taken below) and finally, I realized it was time. 1998-2009 I truly believe she had stomach cancer from all symptoms. I had been hand feeding her cut up teenie weenies and she couldn't even keep that down. She had one take 1 drink in 24 hours. Finally, she couldn't even make it up the 2 small steps on the front porch. She was so so sick, the vet couldn't find a vein. It took him a bit to locate one and then only after shaving a small area. I knew.... I took her to the vet with the two boys who wanted to go. Only I and the youngest went back as Jordan just couldn't. I held her face in my hands and got very close to her one good eye and told her "I tried, Frannie." The vet came to "help her" and I just stayed in her face looking her in the one good eye stroking her muzzle telling her "Frannie, baby, the shot will make you feel all better. You'll feel all better in just a little bit." She stayed calm as long as I kept very close to her face and stroking her muzzle. I held her till her heart stopped and then told the vet to check her. Dear God.....I've lost 2 of my beloved dogs exactly 2 yrs apart. July as a month sucks. It's official.... So, our beloved Francis is now resting in back with my beloved Baxter. I tried to make the boys feel better by saying it will be the 1st time they were close and not picking at each other.
