It occurs to me that estrangement may be a family condition. For example, in my family of origin, both my mother's and father's families were loaded with estranged relatives. Wherever there was a disagreement, people were unable to communicate and just abruptly stopped talking. Over money, children, envy even politics! I grew up not knowing most of my cousins, aunts & uncles. When I met them later sometimes, there was never a conversation about what took place. My parents were fm divorced which caused further estrangement & the inevitable painful decision not to love one for the loss of the other. My daughter has no relationship with her birth father, an alcoholic who begged to be let back in only to disappear when she refused to see him. My only sister cut everyone off 6 years ago for no reason. My brother responded in kind. So here we all are, in our 50s, with no contact. So I guess that estrangement breeds estrangement. It is ironic that in this age of electronic communication that there seems to be less of it going on. Anyway, there is my little insight for today! Be in peace!
