Just feeling confused and sorry for myself. My 22 year-old daughter left home twice--once before Christmas & then right after. There were signs that she was not happy. She graduated a fine private college--which I paid for--last May and her job search has been slow. She actually does not seem to have much fire in the belly when it comes to the job hunting. Anyway, she said for the last several months that she was aiming to get into a grad program. The date for applications submission has come and gone and I honestly do not believe that she applied anywhere. She continues to insist she did but I know that she did not. She also has a "boyfriend" whom I have not met despite asking and she is sexual with him. Up until a few weeks ago, we seemed to have a very good relationship. I am widowed but divorced her father when she was very young. He was an alcoholic. Anyway, she is now living with her girlfriend and refuses to be in touch with me. She left without taking clothing or medications and I have told her that she can stop by with asking permission. She has very little $, works a PT retail job, has no car, & has never worked FT. Honestly, I do not think that I did anything except inquire @ the BF & her applications. I believe she fled because she is lying & has no idea how she is going to get a job. I had offered help but she does not do anything. I am concerned & her because she takes medication for depression. She does not answer calls, emails or texts but I hear from the GF she is staying with. How long can this go on? I honestly want to be helpful but am not in the mood to be used and lied to. Appreciate thoughts. Thank you & Happy Sweet '16!
