Feelings

Some days the mirror looks at me and reflects joy,  pride,  beauty,  scars that add character and build the human I have become like mortar,  like bricks.  They lay the foundation of who I am and hold together the fibers of my being.
Those days that the mirror tells a different story, Cut deep.  Betrayal lies in the eyes that stare back at me. They show scars. Knotted and trailing on a tapestry long since forgotten and unwanted.  Once vibrant colors and bold vision fade and wear, become uninteresting. Pushed back to corners where no one looks,  because no one cares.
Waiting for the day when the fog lifts and colors rejuvenate, and renewed life seeps in through clouded windows. The wind stirs and warmth flows trickling into my soul like rays of sunshine. Glistening on the cobwebs left. Twinkling on grains of ideas and memories floating in the air like seeds to be spread across the lands.
So much hope. So many options. Things that could be and wishes made.
