Today

For the love of God I cannot imagine this occurring today.  I went to the grocery store, way out the road from me. And much farther for the ex.   But who the heck joins that parking lot right behind me but him.  So I decide to talk face to face.  I fell into his arms over work things.  I made a total fool of myself in the Food Lion parking lot.

Someone needs to smack some sense into me.
I am stronger than this, and need to get past it.

Aww..I know..but you loved him and there\'s no on/off switch for feelings. Wouldn\'t that be nice if there was?I\'m sorry you had that coincidence happen..that must have been like the dark cloud of doom approaching when you saw him. I can\'t say I\'d be strong if I saw my ex either... I still miss him even though I know I\'m better off without him. What do u mean you fell into his arms.. crying? Just pick yourself back up and keep on your path. Minor inconvenience..that\'s all. You\'re doing great

Oh oh :(
So sorry u went through that
All u can do now is move on right?
Who knows any of us may have done the same damn thing, were all vulnerable now and it just fcking sucks.
That\'s why I told my daughter I cannot see her mom any more period. I said I don\'t want to hear about her, I don\'t want to hear anything with her name in it.
She left then promptly lost her job she had for 17 years so she\'s freaking out but oh fcking well this is about me not her anymore. Made her bed let her cry on someone else\'s shoulder I can\'t deal anymore or I\'m perpetually stuck in limbo and I\'m not doing it anymore 6 months of this shit is enough I\'m almost 50 I don\'t have the time anymore

Oh, what rotten luck running into him. I\'ve done things I shouldn\'t when caught off guard before. But, even things like this make us stronger. Hope you are able to put this out of your mind, and you\'re having a better day.

Thank you all for your support. I came home and ate lunch and laid down for a bit over it all. Rotten luck indeed and I need to get my head and heart right over it right f\'ing now. I need to make better decisions, I should have driven away.

I would have probably done the same thing. Right now if I were to see him I would probably break down in tears right in front of him. Even though my head tells me to move on my heart still hurts for him. Just try and not beat yourself up over it. Pick yourself back up and move right along.

It is a roller coaster. No judgement. We all have to deal with this in our own way. I have come to find it is a process. We live and learn as we go through it. Hang in there.

OMG Amy I am just reading this. I dont know what I would have done. I cant even imagine if I saw my ex. Atleast he was alone when you saw him. That is my fear is to not see my ex out but to see him out with someone else. OMG. Hang in there

Butterfly, if he had a woman in the car I would have left that parking lot in a hurry. In the end I decided to leave the parking lot anyhow....he had no idea I had not already done my shopping. I just had to say, screw it what I need can wait.

Thank you all for your support - it helps a lot. I see him all over town and it cuts to my soul, still. I will say it is getting easier...very slowly. I run into his friends and coworkers and that has become horribly awkward. I also no w have to work with several of his former coworkers daily and that just plain bites. But I am nice to them and assume nothing about what they think of me and just do my job - which at this point is pretty much getting the crap beat out of me by special ed kids physically and emotionally. Which is why I have let him emotionally support me - these are the kinds of kids he is expert at working at, and I am not.
Anyhow, one day at a time.

Hang in there, you\'ve come a long way baby!!!!! I saw my ex last week driving home from work, I\'m sure he saw me I just pretended I didn\'t see him since we were both driving, didn\'t really matter anyway. I often wonder what I\'ll do and say when I someday run into him. Given the chance, I\'m sure I would fall into his arms as well and then be discarded like a sack of garbage later. Does this really get better?????? You are so strong, thanks for sharing, it helps all of us!

I feel better about it all now - it was just a short episode that was going to happen sooner or later. I was back at that store today and surveyed the lot first (I know how and where he parks) and would have just driven off if he had been there. Thank you all for your thoughts and words - I have come a long way, though sometimes it does not feel like it.
