Day 2
I'm writing this on Day 2 of withdrawals. I'm feeling very sad after the breakup with my boyfriend after a year. I broke it off with him 4 days ago. He totally changed over that time. In the beginning he ruined my new found sobriety by bringing over Scotch to drink with him. I could have said 'no' but didn't and ended up eventually back to daily drinking. Later on he was so much stress that I would drive to the bottle shop just before he came over. Lately he has forced me into lending him money and buying him cigarettes. I do not have a job and there's no way I can afford it. Besides that he is verbally abusive to me. So you may be thinking, now is not a good time to give up but I cannot live the life of hell that alcohol has given me any longer.

Very courageous of you to see that and to act on what is obviously in your best interest!! I\'m sorry that you\'re so sad on what should be one of the happiest days of the year. Out seems like a lot of people are going through that today. Hang in there and know that you did the right thing!
Thanks Precious, I\'m feeling slightly better today. I feel more at peace about the breakup. Do you have any plans for Christmas? Merry Christmas to you.
I made it through Christmas day okay. Today is day 5 and the withdrawals are almost over. Even though I spent Christmas day by myself, I got through it by listening to Christmas carols on the radio so I had a sense of peace. I\'m not having any real cravings. Everytime I think of a drink I just wipe the thought from my mind. There\'s no way i want to go back to being a slave to the bottle. I went for a walk today and actually had some energy. So everything is going well.
I\'m on day 4 of sobriety now. I\'m feeling much better just that my blood pressure is way too high. I think I would have been dead soon had I kept drinking. Cooking lots of healthy food to get my strength back.
