Tonight at work I witnessed a young wife becoming a widow.
Like me, she started her day as a we, and suddenly in one split second she became a me.
I kept my distance as we have been trained to do. The rule to give the grieving their distance was difficult to follow, oh so difficult to follow.
My instinct was to hold her close, to rock her back and forth and to whisper he will come to you, he will come.
Tonight at work I witnessed a young wife become a widow
The memory of your passing haunted the room
For one split second I relived the moment that you died
Then suddenly I felt you hold me close, and rock me back and forth. The sound of a silent room was broken when you gently whispered, I am here. I am here.
I love you.

I am sorry you had to witness something so painful. They often come to comfort us at those moments. Wishing you gentle days ahead. Gerry

Sorry for the young wife\'s loss. Yes, your first instinct would be to hold the woman and comfort her. But you are right, when we first lose our loved one, we want to be alone as the pain is so severe!!! I pray we all find some peace and comfort!!! Hugs. Sue
