I have childhood onset obsessive compulsive disorder. The first time I remember the OCD was in kindergarten. I didn't recognize it at the time - nor did anyone else. A substitute teacher was in. The classroom was divided into two sections - a large front and a large back with a somewhat narrow pathway between two cubby shelves in-between. I was walking back and a girl was walking forward. She fell. I don't know why. A minute later the teacher called me forward. "Dave, did you push her?" "No" I replied. That evening I began to ruminate on whether I had pushed her or not. Unable to remove the thought from my mind I asked my dad to accompany me the next day so that I could tell the teacher I had lied. I lost out on recess that day. It was the beginning of a long and painful struggle with OCD that continues to this day.

I\'m unable to make rational decisions about stuff when I deal with guilt. That is when I have done wrong, actual guilt. Can\'t feel secure in my being forgiven. I do not have problems with feelings of guilt unless I have done something wrong.
