Depression

Being depressed just sucks so much. And I'm really feeling it today. My heart hurts so much. So much stuff going on in my life and around me. My mom just got out of the hospital after cancer surgery. No word yet if she will need any further treatment or not. My friend and next door neighbor's cancer came back. She has a bad feeling like she will not live through this bout. I'm lonely and alone. I have my dog, but he cannot fulfill my need for human company of the opposite sex. And I'm not looking for sex. I'm looking for companionship. Someone to talk to; watch a movie with; laugh with, etc. Intimacy. And that does not mean sex. I'm searching for my soul mate.
I was put on Remeron by one of my doctors. 2 of the 3 things he said it would do, it's doing. 1-eating better, 2-sleeping like a baby. But the 3rd thing, and the most important thing it is supposed to do, it is not doing. And that is to get rid of the depression. Plus my sleeping makes me sleep so hard, every morning I'm waking up with a horrible headache. Plus 2 of the anti-seizure meds that I'm taking are working against each other. And it's making my hair fall out. I hate taking all of this medication. And I hate being so depressed. All I feel like doing today is crying.

I know what you mean about life sucking lately. I am so sorry to hear about your Mom and hope everything goes well with her though. I have both epilepsy and transverse melitis now. I just hate the fact that I cant do what was done a year ago like walking well, cleaning the house, typing, etc...Yes being depressed is an off and on thing also but we have to just take each day at a time with good thoughts. I love yoga, as hard as it is getting got me ha ha but it does work!

Taking physical excercise proves to be helpful in combating depression.
I too am sorry to hear about your mom. Cancer is ugly, wether you survive it or not. Its emotionally scarring. Abuse is scarring to .Physical or emotional. You have a lot on your plate to deal with and you might want to narrow your battles down to the ones you can win.

Thanks to both of you for your helpful comments. I\'ve always wondered about yoga. I could use some exercise and I\'d like to get into better physical shape. I\'ve heard things are easier done in pairs, but most of my friends work. So I\'ll have to tough it out on my own. God bless you. And please keep in touch. Sometimes the only people I can talk to are the ones online.

Yoga is a good idea - I never liked it before, but I kept trying and found a class that worked for me. I think it\'s healthy to go and do things on your own, too. My heart goes out to you with the rest of the trials you are experiencing. Can you talk to your DR. and have you looked at any natural remedies for the depression?

I\'ve stopped taking the Remeron for my depression 3 days ago. Now, I\'ve been able to think more clearly. But this morning, I\'m starting to have feelings of doom. I know that wasn\'t the smartest thing to do, to stop my Rx on my own. I\'ve called my doctor and he is no longer with the clinic where I\'d go. But I plan to see another doctor who can help me with all of my issues.
