General Update
I really don't know where to start. I haven't been to many AA meetings lately. Staying home. Been sick with sinus infection. The weather down here in Louisiana is driving everybody crazy and making us all sick. One day you need 3 layers of clothes on. And the next day, you could where shorts and flip-flops. I've gotten on SSI. Which is a good thing. I can pay my bills and get medical help. But without being able to drive, it gets boring and I get lonely. Not many people to talk to around where I live. I can visit a couple of neighbor friends. But most of my friends in recovery all work and have kids and such. It seems everyone has a life but me.
I went up to Shreveport to see a neurologist. He put me on another anti-seizure med. Now I'm on 3 different meds for seizures. One time, when I got home, another doctor put me on antibiotics for a yeast infection and that made me really loopy and unsteady. Couldn't think straight and such. Reminded me of the days when I took 800 mg. of Dilantin. Doctors orders. When I finished the meds, I was fine. But with this new antibiotic for the sinus infection, I feel like I can't think straight. Plus I'm in the middle of menopause with severe mood swings. And my doctor told me that the antibiotics along with all the seizure meds could be causing the mood swings as well. And that could also explain my unsteadiness, and my cloudy thinking. Sometimes, I am at a lose for words. I sometimes stutter. My mind goes blank. All sorts of shit happening to me and I don't like it one bit. Plus my doctors told me that 2 of the seizure meds could cause an early onset of osteoporosis and also liver damage. They ask me which ones I think are worse. They say the others. I say the seizures. I'd rather have the seizures than the other two. I feel like I'm losing my mind and I don't know what to do. Anyone out there have any suggestions?
