This past weekend, I went out of town with some friends of mine in recovery. Two of them called me during the week last week to talk to me. They reminded me how I was isolating from the group, and how unhealthy that was. That I should not neglect my meetings and avoid people during these stressful times of mine. I decided to go. I made arrangements with my boss and my co-worker. I found someone to babysit my dog. Packed my clothes and left. I've been praying twice a day on my knees and constantly praying throughout my day. I'm doing the best I can right now. The hardest part is waiting for answers.

Yes it hard to wait for the answers but they will come, I have gonr through alot in my life in the last couple of years and I pray every day and when you least expect it the answer will come. Stay strong and take care of yourself. James

Thanks, James. I find it hard to face each day. It seems like the bad news never stops coming. I\'m still waiting for a decision from my insurance company. And the state of Louisiana, on whether I can keep my license or lose it for 6 months. It\'s scary.

That\'s the thing. I feel I can\'t be of help to others. One friend of mine pointed out that maybe my way of helping others is to allow them to help me. Like taking me to work, the grocery store, etc. She said maybe my way of helping others is indirectly. My idea of helping others is being able to do things for them. For me to take them to the store, work, etc. I feel with my being on foot, I can\'t see how I can help other people.

There are a lot of things a person can do to help others without having to drive around - simple emotional support is often enough, a listening ear, etc. I do a lot of volunteer work from home because my schedule is too busy to physically be there, and I know the things I am doing are a great help. I would look into those types of things, and then just be there for others as much as you can be, keeping in mind it does not need to be a physical thing you are doing....hang in there

What type of volunteer work do you do at home? If you don\'t mind me asking. I have been visiting some of my neighbors. One an elderly man who sits outside his apartment a lot. I visit him when I walk my dog. I made brownies and split them between the four of my neighbors yesterday, to say \"thank you\" for helping me. They\'ve given me rides to work and such when I needed things done.
