It's Wednesday morning. Just woke up. I'm going to the d.a.'s office this morning to talk to a guy about pressing charges. I'd like to know for sure who authorized the transaction to prosecute the right party. I've talked to a computer whiz who works at the administration building, one of the banks that I clean, and got some good tips for future reference. He said ."NEVER use your credit or debit card to make an online payment or purchase. Use your debit/credit card only when you have it in your hand." Like for face to face transactions. Somehow, when you use your credit or debit cards online, esp. to pay a bill. If someone else's name is on your account, or has been in the past, they are still on the account. Even if you took their names off, their name is still there. So if they don't pay a particular bill, and in this case, their satellite bill, they can go back to the original card number and take the money from that card. That's what seems to have happened to me. My ex- probably didn't have the funds to pay his bill, and instead of charging his credit/debit card, they took mine for his payment. Which is wrong, because we are divorced. These idiots tried to tell me we have the same card number. I talked to someone else about that. She said the first 8 digits are the same but the last set of numbers are different. There's no way 2 people can have the same card number. Boy, what an education I'm getting out of all this. The guy also told me if I make a purchase or payment on line, to do a check. That way it goes straight through the bank by the check's routing number. And if anything suspicious comes through and you think it's not a transaction you authorized, you can check it out with your bank. The bank can look at the transaction and say, no, that's not an authorized transaction. And the payment can be stopped. I spent all morning Tuesday at my local bank. I changed checking accounts, numbers, debit card, and numbers. I changed all info  for my online banking. Passwords, pin numbers, everything. I'm starting my banking with a clean slate. And I'm not giving these idiots my debit card number to pay my bill online anymore.
