Well, Tuesday, March 3rd, I went to court about my divorce. Hubby wasn't there. I gave my testimony along with two witnesses. My mom and a lady whom I've been working for 3 years. They had to testify that me and hubby have not reconciled, met in secret, nor made any plans to reconcile in the future. I was all for paying court costs that day and it being over and done with, but the judge had to put it off until he could get hubby to appear in court to share his side. And some other bullshit because of a letter hubby wrote the judge about property settlement. I was just getting legal aide for a divorce. The property settlement required a different lawyer altogether. But the judge had to abide  by some new law that just passed also. And he wanted to slap hubby with at least half the court costs. I have to think positive. It's already been a year and a month, which is why I'm more that ready to close this chapter in my life. But I have to look at it this way instead: It's been this long now, what's a few more weeks? It's getting closer. If hubby shows up, I will only have to pay half of the court costs. If hubby doesn't show up, I am responsible for paying full court costs, prior to getting my divorce. Either way, I get my divorce. The only thing is, do I pay for half or full court costs. Whatever happens, I can handle it.  The next court date is March 17. I will call my lawyer tomorrow to see if there is a court date for him, yet. She said she would have him served, asap, and she would let me know when he's to appear, but I want to be sure. I've learned not to wait too long for people to return phone calls. I'm so tired of being in Limbo. And the best part? I don't have to appear in court. I gave testimony and had to witnesses verify it all. That's one thing I was worried about. I would be afraid that if he was in the court room, that I would fall apart.
