Well, for the first time in a while my smiley is green....that says alot!  Had a great weekend.  The picnic was fun - great group of people.  I seemed to be accepted.  See, you have to understand small town.  You can relate about what I can say about it  if you're from one.  I'm not a "townie".  I grew up in the next town over.  He is a townie...born and raised here. Knows everyone, etc.  And he told me that I was going to be under a microscope - meaning that he hasn't brought anyone to any picnics, etc. in over 3 years - and that yes - right now he is the buzz of the town.  LOL  He's been spotted out and about all weekend with a "mystery woman".  Anyways, I mingled, etc.  He told me tonight that he would see me talking with a group and come over to be with me - not because he felt obligated to - but because he wanted to be with me.  Made me feel good.  I guess a friend of his suggested he pursue something with me 6 months ago - and he told him not interested because I was fresh out of a relationship, etc., and that he was glad he waited until now.  It was nice having him put his arm around me - the simple rubbing my arm, etc.  I could tell it was genuine.  He's a nice guy - and as I told him - I'm not use to that - and to be patient with me - in the respect that a man being "nice" was so foreign to me. Tomorrow is back to his reality of his having his kids after the parade.  He's marching in it with the boy scouts...so he had to get up early.  We probably won't be able to go out or hang out til like the weekend of the 9th.  He has his kids next weekend - and the Scouts are going to Six Flags for the weekend - so he'll be doing that - and I'll be working.  Nichole you were right in your assumption - as you usually are - I had a better time than I had anticipated.   After the initial nervousness wore off - it was really good - had fun - felt good to laugh and enjoy someone's company.   It's been a while...and it felt good to be me - and not be someone else or fit a "mold" of what/who I'm suppose to be....and you know what...he liked me for me....which was really cool :)

Isn\'t it nice to just be yourself and be fully accepted that way? No false words, no mask, and nothing but just pure enjoyment. I\'m so glad you had a great weekend. ((((hugs))))

I am thrilled for you, sounds like you had a great time and you deserve it. Yeah I remember those feelings, kinda like having goose bumps cover your entire body huh. I felt like that when I got released from jail and hubby picked me up. I try to remind myself everyday that I don\'t want to put myself into another situation where I end up isolated separated from all familiar human contact. You go girl.

Thats so nice to hear Lisa. But I\'m left wondering.......is he enough for you? Can you make the adjustment to be with this \"normal\" loving type of guy? It sounds like you will have to be patient with all the waiting. That part would be hard as hell for me. When I like someone, I want to see them a LOT! But, I can tell you, because Im with a \"normal\" guy myself now, and have been for 9 years, that it is a better experience all the way around. They are consistent men, you can count on them, and they really know how to love you and make you feel it through and through. You will be the priority (with the kids) in his life. And you really to get to be you!! That is the MOST freeing, comforting, relaxing feeling! No more faking or worrying, or trying to be what we think they want. I really hope this works out for you!!! I think you will not only be happy, but you\'ll be able to find out who you are, because you will always be the real you! I love u, Im happy you had a good time.
