Happy Mothers Day!!

Hi everyone. Hope you had a great day - all you Moms! Me, I'm EXHAUSTED!!!! 10 plus hour day on my feet - setting up the place - and then 9 hours of pure hell! LOL I"m getting WAY too old for this shit!!!!! I mean - yes - the money was great! But - when I got into my car (the first time I sat) I got out and WOW - my aching body! LOL I had all the larger parties - me and 2 other girls - and we served hundreds, I kid you not. We had a party of 30 and a couple of 18's - nothing under a party of 12. For the most part people were very generous. There were a couple parties that had additude because we couldn't accommodate them - it's a limited menu today. I felt like saying to them - you know what - I'm running around like a fool to make your Mom happy SHUT UP LOL - but obviously I couldn't do that - but God knows I wanted to.

There was this woman who ordered Baked Stuffed Shrimp it was 18.99 - and we also had a Baked Stuff Scrod for 17.99 - and her husband sat there and pointed the dollar comparison - and she was like - but I really want the shrimp - like she had to justify the buck! So after she ordered I said "It's Mother's Day - you deserve it" and her hubby kind of looked at me - and didn't make eye contact with me the rest of the meal. BULLSHIT - Give me a break It's Mother's Day - IT"S A BUCK!@!!!!! LOL Ok, I'll let it go - but it just really ticked me off!

Well, my mind is wired - but my body is screaming at me! I think I'm going to take a hot shower and crawl into bed - and hopefully fall asleep - I don't think it should be too much of a problem!!!

Wow - what a busy day. It would have ticked me off also - a guy worrying over a buck difference - controlling. Sleep sound. Rita

My first job experience was restaurant work. Worked my way from dishwasher, to busboy, to prep cook to line cook, and boy do I remember Mother\'s Day. Made great money as a busboy (it was an upscale restaurant) but wow what a grueling day! And I remember the idiots scowling at you, \"Where\'s our food!\" when you barely have time to stop for a sip of water. I always wanted to \"accidentally\" smack them in the back of the head with a full bus tray. Haha. Oh well, you made it through and I hope you raked in the greens. As for the tight wad loser, you should have just thrown a dollar on the table and really pissed him off! Hope you have an easier day today!

I second MissChels comment. I too worked in the restaurant business and our biggest day was St. Patrick\'s Day. If it already wasn\'t packed enough with customers the owner had and Irish band walking around and shot girls. Talk about frustrating. I\'m glad you made good money though, it almost makes it worth it. We had to wait almost 2 hours at the restaurant we went to but their crab cakes are well worth the wait. They ship them all around the world so believe me, I didn\'t mind sitting outside on a bench for awhile, gave me, my mom and daughter some time to chat and catch up. All in all it was a glorious day.
