I said I would write back to let you know how I'm getting on with the meds.
So far I think they are working or at least to some degree. I'm currently on Lyrica if you didn't know already?
I find they make me want to sleep for ages which is not that bad I guess but I find I feel hung over most days, and that waking up takes ages.
I have an appointment to see the docs on Tuesday primarily to review my meds and get me some more, but I'm feeling anxious again just going to the docs.
The anxiety - well its still present although perhaps not as strong as it was before when it surfaces. I tend to get anxious when confronted with any situation which is even remotely out of my comfort zone, that hasn't changed at all. I tend to think that it is here to stay with me for a while at least. I wonder if I need the medication upped or perhaps I need to take two doses a day instead of the one.
I've also developed a shoulder pain on my left side which is a result of a old injury/problem which I had since I was a postman, since I was 19. I tend to lie on my left side on the sofa when I'm at my laptop which has now caused pressure on my shoulder.
Another thing which is affecting me at the moment and is adding fuel to my anxiety is my partners son (who we live with) He is a teenager (14) but acts very immaturely. He also has no respect for me or his mother and acts like he is the adult at times.
Last night he took things too far, showing off (in front of a friend of his who was staying over) and acted in a inappropriate manner, he tends to do this when my partner is out (abusive language, and actions) when its just me and him in the house. Normally the banter is OK but he has a tendency to take things to another level. I strongly believe his is very jealous of me and his mothers relationship, and is doing any thing in his power to make me move out. Which at the moment to be frank is very tempting.
Last night my adrenaline was up, and I could have really kicked his ass.
It was that bad that I had to physically restrain him, its as if he knows I'm not 100% well and uses that and anything else against me, kind of like bullying. My estimation of him has gone right down of late, and he has a lot to do to rectify the situation.
I tend to find my partner siding with him as well which does not help matters, even last night when his actions were very bad, she will not punish him, in fact the pattern goes like this. He does something bad, he eventually calms down and feels guilty (pretends to feel guilty more like) and becomes a martyr, and she rewards him with affection and material things. I believe he knows this so does it all the more. Its probably because he knows he will get something in return. I don't believe he knows how to be appropriate he is like the proverbial bull in a china shop, he doesn't know how to behave at all, even when he is not playing up, he is like wild animal.
I know mothers can be a soft touch, and they tend to have a more protective side to their parenting which is fine but he reaction to this takes this piss. In some way I'm more annoyed with her about it as she perpetuates the problem somewhat. I'm not the kids father and so have no input in the matter, and so I'm thinking that it might be easier on everyone if I leave the situation completely, end my relationship with her and move out.

I\'m sorry all this is going on in your life!! Sounds like that boy could use some punishment. Concequences for his actions. It might be difficult for his mom to punish him but she needs to know that by not punishing him, she is doing more harm than good! Its enabling and alot of mothers do that to their sons and then the son turns out to have problems later in life bc of it. I\'ve seen it time and time again.
Anyway, you have alot on your plate! I\'m glad the meds are helping some. That the anxiety isnt as bad as what it was! Thats always a good thing!
(((hugs)))
