they what me to go to westchester medcallcenter for 6 weeks i dont know what to do i need the help but i dont whant to be away from my kids please help meif any body can give me so advice
I know what you mean about not wanting to be away from your kids. That was a big consideration when I went inpatient when my son was 5. But I was at the point that I was no good to him the way I was. I was suicidal and had a plan. I ended up going in the hospital and I\'m so glad I did. I got the help I needed and I was a better mother for it. Yeah, it was hard for him to have me gone, but in the long run it was much better for him.
My guess is that if your depression is severe enough that they want you to go inpatient, then it will probably be the best thing for your kids, too. And it also models good self care for them. If one of your kids needed the help that you need, what would you tell them to do? Probably, your heart would break and you would want them to get the help they need and deserve.
