hung out with a recovering heroin addict i work with, he's a year in methodone treatment, and stil has pains and cravings. what's in the future wqith drink? not that we'll ever be togethe again, but i still miss her. don't see...  you know what? eff it, i'm better than this. i don't need it. why should i act like i want something i don't need. not i don't ned it like i don't need an ipod. (i love my ipod) my ipod is useful, and for a music lover, it's vertually invaluable. but not necessary. neither is alcohol. and i don't have any use for it. it doesn't have a use for me. at this age, my body is going to start the breaking down process, and i don't need to help it along like i have. i don't want to live forever. i'm not vain. it's just, i'm not done yet.

Oh, I PROMISE, you\'ll get to the point where the want is GONE!! FOR SURE! I drank every night for 18 years before I quit and the first month was the toughest.(Habit) Smoking, that\'s different. I hear people that have quit for 50 years and still want. No, the WANT for alcohol WILL go away!! The NEED for you must already be gone but I don\'t remember that far back. Hang in there. At least you get to smoke and you can\'t go to jail or get a DUI or kill someone driving or make an ass out of yourself and have to drink more the next time to confront those poeple, you will not forget, you won\'t wake up with a hang over and in someone else\'s bed you have no idea how to get home from.....yeah, smoking is a \"good\" thing when you compare it to drinking. I never have nor will I EVER regret quitting!!! AND, I do BOT consider myself a strong person in the least. I\'m VERY dependant and haven\'t drank the 3 years I\'ve been alone or through the divorce which was a death after being with him for 25 years and I never even THOUGHT it may help me.
