It's been a while
It has been a while since I've wrote on here. After being diagnosed a little over a year ago, I felt like I was given a death sentence. After coming here and educating myself I felt a little better. Now, after 20 plus phlebs over the past year (9 months of every two weeks) I am now able to say I've made it to maintenance mode. My ferritin at my last check was 57.2. I had a phleb last week and I feel great. I haven't felt this way in a very long time. This isn't a sprint, it's a marathon and that's the only way I can describe it. This isn't a quick fix overnight situation, it's a grueling process. It's not going to be easy, but living is so much better than the alternative. I look at my kids and I find another reason to keep doing everything I can to be here for them.
