ok well today i think we got closer to hell. My son was repeating the same thing over and over again for 5 or 6 hours following me around the house poking me hitting me with couch pillow and his jacket for an hour straight. The police came because he locked me out of the house when I went outside for a cigarrette. His doctor called after i hung up on him because he mentioned calling cys. I told him look I am not abusing my son nor neglecting him there is no reason to call cys. I will be making a complaint and contacting my lawyer. His doctor says its behavioral I have said to him if its behavorial then take him of the meds. He has these behavoirs because of the disorder. The doctor says he wont be hospitalized because he is not a danger to himself or others I was like he is hitting himself that is a danger to himself and you know he has hit me.Anyway I thought it was the landlady that called the police but I found out it was the doctor after just speaking with the person who is supose to be our case manager. She said they were worried about me the funny thing is that the police did not come for over an hour after the call to the doctor and no ambulence came. Hmm worried about my my ass. For anyone who thinks this is a teen testing clearly i must not be painting a good picture. I promise you this is not typical teen behavior. I called the emergency mental health delegate today as well he heard my son, my advocate at the the advocy allience heard him, as well as an advocate at the women's resource center. After hearing my son over the phone they know he is out of control. The fact is most kids dont like to hear the word no, but children with bipolar in the research i read have a much harder time accepting the word no. It also states that it is not unusual for the child to have problems in the home and not in school because the home has the relationship between parent and child and parents usually ask there child to do things where as the school is just school just to do school work. (for the parents who think its them) Many have a hard time with transitions. Now granted going throug puberty does not help. Magnify the typical hormonal reaction by 200 percent and then you know what we are dealing with if you can even imgine. Grrrrrrrrrr it just makes me mad when people state he is just a teenager. Please I was a teen not very long ago I remember what it is like and i can and have been able to separate the the two. Everyone have a nice night things are actually quiet here now. He is playing a video game and although most would say you letting him play his videos I say then you come and deal with this the next 6 hours because I am exhausted. I just pray he goes to bed on time.Tomorrow we are of the the mental health center where I will be meeting the case manager, and the advocate will also be coming to talk to the doctors. Everyone have a good night.

No, this isn\'t normal teenage bahvior...I hate it when people say that too. Ryan\'s school hotlined me to children\'s services 3 times, AND, one of the social workers actually accused me of munchousen\'s by proxy where the parent creates illnesses in their children for attention!!!!! Every time social services showed up, I gave them the names of all Ryan\'s docs, hospitals he\'d been to, my journal\'s of his behavior, a log of all my phone calls to the school, anything and everything about Ryan. They never found abuse on my part, always said I was doing everything possible and finally the last time, they contacted the school...so, it stopped after that. And interestingly enough, they won\'t take a child when they are the abuser...yes, I got that desparate.
I went thru at least 5 psycologists...it\'s amazing to me how some people get a license to practice. Ryan was 7, had just gotten out of the hospital after being in a coma for 6 days with viral meningitis/encephalitis, causing epilepsy and still couldn\'t identify simple objects or articulate things. So, I took him to this doc to make sure he is mentally ready for school. We\'d seen him 2 times, so this doc knew of the extreme physical abuse Ryan suffered from his dad. This doc picked Ryan up, putting his arms under Ryan\'s legs and back, telling him he was going to throw him out the 2nd story window and he would fall to the ground breaking his arms and legs...all the while laughing, thinking this was a \"bonding, fun time\"!!!!!! I about screamed.
And, me being disabled, Ryan at least does have medicaid, but, unless he is coming at me with a knife or doing it to himself at the very moment I call, they won\'t approve hospitalization!!!...yes, a rep. actually told me this.
I had to physically restrain my son for 6 hours straight to keep him from hurting me, himself...he was only 6, but he wanted to run out into the street and get hit and killed by a car. He still follows me around, repeating the same thing for hours on end, although the violence has quieted...TG!
I\'m so glad you have people who have heard him so they can attest to his condition. Having an advocate is really good too. I really hope they are able to give you the support and care your son needs.
