One-year anniversary of my brother death today, January 31, 2008. I felt like my guts were being strangled by some unseen force when my dad, grandfather and I went out golfing. Either my brother's spirit was tugging on me, reminding me of things gone past, or just my own horrid memories of my complete emotional breakdown when I visited his corpse at Mt Sinai hospital, with all the things that I wanted to say unsaid, because I wanted him to hold onto hope that he would make it--all sorts of stuff came flooding back. On a particularly serene moment on the 6th fairway, when the warm sun was beating down and a cool breeze was blowing, in that quiet moment, I could hear my brother say "I miss you guys". I had no choice but to say "I miss you too, Markee. There's nothing I can do about it, and it sucks. But I miss you too!" On a particularly strong drive off the 4th tee, I asked "did you help me out there with that one, Markee?", sure that he gave me that little bit of extra strength. A wonderful dinner at my grandparents' place followed, and, as we all reminisced about Markee, my grandfather brought up his departed loved ones--his father, his brother, his son and his daughter, the latter two whom were run over by drunk drivers. His brother was killed in a B-25 bomber in WWII when weight was miscalculated and the plane crashed shortly after takeoff on its way to some bombing mission. His daughter Doris brought tears to his eyes, as he remembered how she came to him in a dream after her demise, when he was feeling completely empty and worthless, as I do frequently, and, as he was considering taking his own life, she assured him that he was supposed to be here for something yet, which indeed he has. Now, feeling better after a long, full, gut-wrenching cry, I plan to settle in and watch some mundane television before getting a good night's sleep, in the rest God restoring me to peace and health. Bless you all!

I know how hard these anniversary dates can be, but you got through & I know that Markee was with you every step of the way.
I believe Markee was there too. All I can do is throw my love his way, wherever he may be. Thanks so much for your love and support, ladies!
I\'m sure Markee was with you too, and always will be. I am sorry it hurts so much, and I hope things get better for you; it takes time before you at least learn to live with the pain that never goes away. Remember that Markee does not want you to feel this way, so pray to him too, for your strength.
Take care,
donna
HEY BUD IM NOT A LADY LOL:)I MAY BE A BRIDE BUT IT IS TO JESUS
GOD BLESS YOU,
FORREST
Oops, sorry, BrideofChrist (I get it; you\'re married to Christ like Christ is to the church). Maybe a better title would be \"One With Christ\"-? Didn\'t mean to offend.
Thanks as always, mamasgirl. Yeah, there\'s this pain (and this anger) that simply will not go away. Intense exercise followed by deep rest always helps. Group sports are great--I play tennis with some buddies, and it\'s a good healthy way to work out aggression. Finding myself enjoying watching violent movies too; perhaps this is not good, but it\'s a sort of catharsis that allows me to externalize my bad feelings without actually hurting anyone...(LOL)
Sounds like your family has had much loss of some wonderful people. For that, I am truly sorry for your loss. My best friend, who was like my sister, was murdered 5 years ago. I know its not the exact same thing, but I understand the pain. I miss her terribly too. Hope your days have gotten better since then. Thanks for sharing these wonderful people with us!
Thanks, flutter. Yes, my family (especially on my mom\'s side) has certainly lost a lot of wonderful people: My mom\'s brother Don got burned beyond recognition when he was filling his car up with gas and the car was hit by a drunk-driver; her sister Doris was walking down 441 drunk one night and got run over, my mom\'s dad lost his brother in WWII when the B-25 bomber he was in, overloaded with bombs, crashed shortly after takeoff. Geez!--the tragedy! But my own brother was the first time death hit home, and cancer was the last thing I thought would hit any of us. Boy, it\'s tough to deal with! I\'m sorry to hear about your friend who was murdered; that must be completely awful to deal with. Pain is pain and loss is loss. This community is great for sharing.
