sad

I feel sad but it has absolutely nothing about detoxing for a day and staying sober for the rest of my life.I feel sad cuz I feel abandoned.  Unloved and I'm sure I did something for it but I'm just not quite sure.Guess it doesn't matter.Continue on, Kate.  Continue on.

Kate I dounderstand the feeling. it took me 4 months of hanging on for dear life to begin to understand what they were telling me in those meetings. Most new comers feel that why are they so aloof feeling when they firstcomein. I had to,in the beginning, understand that I was saying goodbye to what I had considered to be my best friend (even tho\' it was killing me). Then I had to understand that I was the one was aloof. Tho I had things to say and sometimes they even made sense I never stuck around long enough to get feed back. Actually I am quite proud ofyou for making this attempt. Pleaseknowthat on this road to recovery I will walk with you as much as I can. Please know to that I am one opinionated S.O.B. and if I don\'t agree or think someting can be added am going to do so. Not out of spite but out of love... the same love they gave me when I first came in and couldn\'t find within myself FOR myself. I\'m with ya kiddo (wether you like it or not lol).

Kate, my thoughts are with you at this difficult time. Detoxing aint no fun!!! I remember, more than once!
Please just hang in there, and I can tell ya it will get better!
I finally detoxed for the last time two and a half years ago, I was so weary. Sobriety for life is doable, attainable, one day at a time and fun!
If I had to white Knuckle through life I would be drunk and then dead. Finding a workable solution, which relieves the compulsion to drink was imparative to me. AA and a sponsor and the 12 steps finally did it for me, and still does on a daily basis. I truly have fun now, and I sure enough didn\'t think that could really happen, but it did! Promises came true and are continuing to come true all the time.
Stick around, don\'t drink, work some kind of a program and prepare to be amazed!!!
Good Luck!!!
