Went to sleep w/the Travel channel on (the lady that looks for gemstones in the "wild")...dreamt that I got a lovely geology job w/a very cute, young professor who taught beginning geology and needed an assistant...I answered ?'s for my job entry test & when I got correct answers, he displayed these beautiful gemstones, one more spectacular than the last...asking more ?'s about their chemical makeup, origins, etc. Best test I ever took.When I "passed" and was hired, he told me to go downstairs to the gem gift shop, pick one stone that I really loved and take the rest of the day off...spoke to a very nice lady behind the counter who showed me lovely loose stones...I picked a pink tourmaline w/a trillion (triangle) cut...such lovely flashes...then, she said that if I would wait, she'd "make" a rose quartz box to put it in...While I waited, two college men came in from cross-country skiing to buy gemstones for their parents. My "sweater" had suddenly vanished, so when they asked me where the lady behind the counter had gone, I had to answer w/o gesturing w/my hands, as they were busy "providing cover"...they noticed my dillema, too, but were too polite to say anything...eventually the lady came back and I had to brave taking the box from her w/at least one hand...I forgot about my wardrobe malfunction, though, once I saw the box...all starry rose quartz, w/beautiful flashes and even a hinged lid. All I could say was, "Wow!"When I moved away, so that the young men could speak w/her, she told me not to stand by the window, as rebels had been firing through the glass, lately, to get at the stones...well, I didn't stand far enough away...a shot came over my right shoulder, and I hit the deck, trying to duck all of the flying glass...tourists and buyers were screaming and holding their heads...eventually, the "smoke" cleared, and when I looked down, the box was still ok in my hands...This means something, but I can't internalize it, mentally, so much as emotionally...only wish the job part had been true, cute prof., or not...
