...well, I've just finished driving up on someone's lawn, this morning, during our "snowstorm," just stopping short of taking down their fence, by about 5 feet...I managed to drive myself off of their lawn, over the sidewalk, and onward to work...I DO intend to stop by said-house when the snow dies down, to apologize for wrecking their grass...even if it was already under 1.5" of snow...as it was, I was so focused on not wrecking the car & anything else, that I didn't even note the house number...no one came out of that house, and the police haven't shown up at my workplace, yet, but I feel so deeply ashamed...and STUPID! Damned ice build-up! Just when I was starting to get a little bit more comfortable driving in different weathers, too...guess it's just as well that I haven't even driven out of my own town, yet! :>( Will someone PLEASE invent the damned air car already? GRRRrrr! P.S. Am thinking of just leaving $300.00, anonmymously, in the mailbox of said-victim...I'm just too ashamed to face the poor homeowner...and, maybe some good grass seed and soil from Fred Meyer...know that I am over-reacting--and, things could've been a whole lot worse (yup, I prayed my thanks, once I got into the parking lot, this A.M.!)--but, I just feel so sick, inside...this is something that "don't-care" people committ...not someone, like me, who would be just as upset, if someone had done that to my lawn... P.S.S. Apparently, I'm still "in shock," 'cause I'm not journaling worth beans, anyway...interestingly, there is one advantage to approaching 50--I would've freaked and burst out crying, 20 years ago, if this had happened to me...as it is, all I could think about was not trying to flood the motor getting the car started, again, and making sure that I hadn't wrecked the oil pan, tires, or the frame...plucky little car! Just not enough weight in the back, I guess...that God for old Detroit steel! I feel ashamed to be in front of the car, though, as it is! If I was that car, I'd be humiliated to have such a crappy driver! Advice, anyone...? (sigh!)
