...Been holding my breath.  My mom had emergency breast cancer removal surgery (left breast) in Nov '03.  And now, Mom just endured her "re-do" mammogram, after they thought they'd found lumps from her annual exam, 2 weeks back.  Seems that the lumps turned out to be just "masses," upon re-examination...So, they gave the masses another good squeeze, to slightly disperse them (?)...I've never heard of anyone doing this.  For example, I had a lump on my left breast back in '89 that they aspirated, when it was determined to be benign, but I've never heard of anyone trying to break up a lump/mass...had anyone else heard of doing this?Naturally, I'm relieved for my mom; plus, she said this was probably why she was so forgetful and distracted the last few days, just before she had the 2nd exam; I knew she was worried about them finding cancer & having it come back...with her lupus and current health state, there is no way that she would be able to survive chemo and radiation, for very long.But, her memory lapses still bother me, because I know that senile dimentia does run on the maternal side of the family.  Back in the early 70's, I remember that my maternal great-uncle suffered from it, after he turned 71.  I am going to continue to keep any eye out...I did have the quietest New Years, ever, here, at home...I very much missed my boyfriend & was secretly very sorry that I couldn't be up there w/him.  But, since my new work has very, very few days off, being a small company, it just wasn't possible.  Plus, my bf was still very sick w/that stomach/sinus stuff that's been going around, over here.  Still, this was the first time in  19 years that we hadn't spend New Years, together, and it did hurt...
