Mom's in a bad, bad, funk, today...do not think that it's her malingering cold, either...G.M. "continues to cause problems," even now that she's deceased...latest is that my Dad has to wait for his younger brother to agree that it's ok for G.M. to be cremated, shipped back to Osceola, WI, & buried next to her husband, my Dad's father, who passed away suddenly, back when Dad was 11...Well, the brother is not calling back & time is awasting...Mom and I talked & I told her that I thought Dad should contact the lawyer, as I'm pretty sure the morgue will only hold someone for a certain stretch, before taking other action (potter's field? transfer to the county morgue? did I pick up these factoids on C.S.I., or the X-Files? I can't say...). Dad, like a knee-jerk reaction, says that it won't do any good to go to the lawyer...Mom and I disagree...and, yes, I'm still staying out of it, while trying to show solidarity...I can't see shipping a body, a coffin and then having the elaborate service that G.M. wanted--but never saved for--for two men and maybe three other people in the community who might still be alive to remember her...but, my Mom sees my Dad caving, now, to guilt, and we are both pretty sure that the brother will pay for nothing....those folks never have...Meanwhile, as Mom rightfully pointed out, she's been making sundresses for herself out of old Goodwill sheets, to save money, so she really resents where this is all going....I would just like to say that I do appreciate all of the kind condolences and warm support I've received from D.S.:>)My family wouldn't necessarily understand my need to share such details w/strangers, but I see no reason why two or more heads can't be better than one, when dealing w/life...:>)

Dear rushfan your family is not the only one that goes through things like this when a family member dies. It\'s apart of life, because every one has an opinion. But an opinion is not any good without a good solution. Hang in there it will get better. My Deepest Sympathy goes out to your family for the lost of your Grandmother.
