Well, my Dad went over to see G.M. and found her deceased, this afternoon.  I was more than a little shocked; I thought for sure that she would give over, get better and take everything that she was supposed to take, but apparently it didn't happen.  I am sorry that she is dead, but I am more sorry that the last memory I will have of her will be the 5 hour gripe session. My mom was not sorry that she had passed on; after having G.M. as a mother-in-law for over 47 years, I can see why.  In addition, Mom said that we should be feeling more compassion for our troops who are dying horrible deaths in the Middle East...or, for young children dying, left and right, from cancer...she is right, of course...And now, I think that this is going to take a big dent of guilt out on my Dad; he is feeling very guilty, right now, of course, that he really didn't get in there and work, argue w/her more and make her do what she was supposed to have done.  Hindsight is always the better teacher...etc. Still, 94 is a great old age, but I'm sure that she would've made it to at least 98, if she hadn't been so obstinate and if my Dad had been more determined.  Now, all of those little legal things that he should've taken care of when Mom suggested it, are now going to come back in a big way.  His surviving brother and sister-in-law will be around, eventually, to tell us what a lousy job we all did, bringing her up here from FLA (& esp. "...why didn't we just leave her, alone, down there?  She was perfectly happy..."  Yes, and perfectly penniless, too)...quite honestly, they will also be sniffing for $, of course, which grandma used up, many years back...this will be like the time when my Dad's miser uncle was killed in a fire...Dad's sister-in-law literally looted the man's home, before the morgue ever even got ahold of the body...his brother did nothing to stop it...talk about a legal mess...well, that's another grim story for another day...(shudder).Again, I felt something more was wrong, like I indicated, last night...I think these are Fate's way of nudging us towards the truth, like it, or not...guess that I will not be needing the get well card that I purchased for her, today, after all...G.M., I hope God takes you into His peace...there was probably a reason why you turned out like you did & only God knows it...I hope that you will be happy, up there, from now on...some truly loved you, even if they didn't understand you....

Here is a big hug to you.... How are you feeling? You spoke of your mom and dad, but no indication of how you are doing with the loss is to be found anywhere... You\'re right, 94 is a ripe old age, and perhaps she was ready... The body and the mind aren\'t what they used to be at 94. Know you\'re on my mind, as is your grieving family.
Big hug,
Jessica
