...has to have been the most unproductive week, in my recent history...'m not going to say that I didn't miss going into work, 'cause I sort of did, but I got nothing done, at home, at all, this week...plus, all of my shoes are dirty & that's driving mom up the wall (lol!)G.M. has been very sick (stomach) for nearly 4 days, now...my mom is insisting that Dad take care of her, responsibility-wise, soley, as he's never had to do it/avoided doing it, before...I'd be ok w/that, except at 94, I worry that G.M. is going to wind up in the hospital...my mom gives my dad very solid instructions on what to do, & then he "wimps out" about 1/3 the way through the regimen...doesn't want to make an enemy of himself/waste his personal time, I guess...but, then he rants at home about how he isn't going to let him mom push him around...by now, G.M. should've taken at least 4 antibiotics...think he's gotten 1 capsule down her, in the last 3 days...she has seen her dr., but is not due to go back until Dec.  Plus, she is already fighting the suggestion that she needs flu/phenomnia shots; she hasn't been used to being in cold, dry weather, now, for the last 20 years, & I think at her age, she needs some boosters.  My maternal grandmother died of congestive heart damage + bronchitis = lungs filling up w/water...they did all they could, but back in '74, she suffered terribly before she died...it was just as horrible for my mom to stay by her side and watch...I think that stress, on top of her marriage, was what caused her heart attack, two years later...Plus, Mom's been sort of headcold "sick" the last three days...mind you, we--'cept for Dad---haven't seen G.M., since the marathon complaint-fest, so it's prob. nothing G.M. passed along to her.  I tried to talk my mom into going back to our G.P., but he was so cranky when she was in there 3 weeks ago, that she declined...she has some good antibiotics fr. her leg injury & is taking those, instead...she says she's feeling better, but I notice that she had to switch to more of her flannel ware, for nighttime, just to stay comfy...if you know my mom, she's a fresh air person, no matter the time of the year, so I know that she was feeling punk enough to start staying warmer...Dad is p.o.ed; this is the second cr. card this year that he's had to cancel, due to "fishing" (my e-bay account--which I used all of 1 time to buy Sonicare toothbrushes--was fished, last year & they never could restore it, because someone kept trying to gain access to it...so I can look, there, but not touch....anyway, I digress); well, Yours Truly purchased some hyacinth bulbs for Mom, and some Hatch enchilada sauce, for the family, and was imm. under suspicion (sp?), even though I left all of my receipt info. in the desk, which was what Dad wanted...his counter, this A.M., was that he couldn't find anything in the desk, and that we should all put things in a ledger, etc. (sigh).I did have a consultation w/my b.p. dr., today, and aside from those aging bugaboos of sl. higher triglycerides and cholesterol (the good chol., for once, was higher than the bad chol.), he was very pleased w/my overall health.  Only my thyroid reading were really high...seems they've jumped nearly 20 pts., fr. last year...so, I get tested in Dec., to see where they really are, again.  I asked my dr. if he thought my menopause may have been causing it, but he seemed uncertain...hm...Today, is my bf & my (mine? boy, my grammar is really off, today) anniversary; 24 years ago, I met him, and, yes, I miss him...and, yes, he may have forgotten that our anniversary was today...on the other hand, my Hatch chili purchase that was viewed, earlier, as a suspicious item, is bothering me (in a bemused way) a whole lot more...how can one be suspicious of good chili?I haven't spoken much about my bf, I guess; he doesn't get along w/the rest of my family & I have, in the past, been under the impression that I should have parted co. w/him, years back, on that basis, alone.  However, he is different when he is alone w/me; we love so many of the same things--esp. music and sci-fi--that I have always felt pretty comfortable w/him; so, I came to the conclusion--also years back--that keeping him aside from my family was the only way in which our romantic friendship was going to work...plus, other men find my varied interests a little too hectic...and scary....I don't know why...I thought Klingons and stargates were universal constants...aren't they? Anyway, I guess that I am missing my bf...it's tough being over 1/2 a state apart...:>(Well, I can't wait to see what tomorrow offers...more viruses and cr. cards going defunct?  I will just have to see...
