While squirreling around to finish G.M.'s move-in list, I also shopped for my mom's b-day, that was today...I always enjoy doing that! :>)

However, today revealed that all my dad bought my mom for her birthday was A CARD!

Apparently, hiding (most of the time) in his room, stressing over his mom coming to live up here and wishing it would all go away takes all time and precedence over his loyal wife of 47 years, celebrating her 71st...when I think of all of the moments when we all could've lost her, for good, due to her bad health, and this is the only "consolation prize" that her husband can come up with?

I love my father--and I would never, ever, trade him in--but I am so pissed off at him, right now! It's all I can do--acc. to my mom's wishes--to just ignore this not-so-slight slight, and be civil to him!

Am I crazy? Is this any way to say "thank you" to a wife, who helped set up all of this stuff for her husband's mother...a lady who doesn't even like her? How is this fair?
