Been very rocky around the home front, lately. Mom's nearing 71, next mo., and thinking about her 94 year-old mom-in-law coming to live near her is causing a lot of stress!
Today, she told me we may as well just forget about her birthday in May! I said, "No Way! You never forgot about ours--why in the hell should we forget about yours? We're having your birthday and no one is going to supplant that! Not even Grandma--I don't care how old she is!"
Well, if my Grandma had been a sensible, more kindly person when she was young enough to do something about it, we wouldn't be going through this ridiculous kow-towing!
My dad, of course, is hoping that all the "women folk" are going to take care of this problem for him, so that he won't have to deal w/the nitty-gritty of his own mother coming to live here. Men, take note: women have their own moms to look after--get off your heinies and get creative w/your own relatives!

Hey I know how some of them feelings are. Hope your mom feels better tomorrow. Birthdays are a big deal and do not let her forget that.
