update
Kind of a quiet day today so thought I'd clean a little in my shed and shop......such a massive undertaking! But if I can do a little every day, I might get it all done by the time I leave.
While going through some old papers, I came across some that had my dad's handwriting on them. I didn't really need them but yet I wanted to hang on to them and I don't know exactly why, maybe, because it felt like a part of him was still with me. I should have chucked the old appt book of his from 1987.
It was full of mouse poop like most everything else in the old metal filing cabinet. The one that had the big dent on top from the garage roof cave in back in the spring of 2008 when the ice was melting.
Now I don't remember which pile I put it in. The save pile or the discard pile. I will look. I decided it won't hurt to save it for another year or so we'll put it in the save pile for now:)
Going to stop for awhile. My heart is all a flutter. The memories of fresh out of college, newspaper articles about me wanting to save the world.....when I was a union organizer and fighting for my coworkers, and as a politician wanting to help those less fortunate. Those were the days my friend, like the song!
Nowadays I care less about politics and unions. I am more focused on my own survival and in healing myself and in making myself a better, happier, person.
Hope you all have a good day!

I miss my dad too - right now, I\'m looking at a little picture of Freddie Flinstone and he\'s saying: If it\'s against the law to drink and drive, then why do barrooms have parking lots?
I kept it because it\'s a part of him that I remember fondly and he died over 21 years ago. He lived just long enough to see his first grand daughter born. Sad really...
Awww KR! Thanks for sharing the fond memory of ur dad! He is happy where he is now, just like my dad is. hugs!
I know what your are talking about Bob! Yesterday I was exercising on my bike and was looking at a collage picture on the wall of my family. My eye settled on Ken who we lost 4 years ago at the age of 21! It made the loss fresh again.
So find that appointment diary and put in the save pile!
Thanks Joyce, I already did that.
And make sure you write a bill for your labor as well. You can use it to buld resume as a handyman! Just a thought
Damn. Wrong journal entry. Sorry. Memories are wonder ful and paniful al at the same time. Hugs
Take care of yourself Bob! Sad to have to go through all of this. I hope and pray that better times are ahead!
