update
Wife came home today and her diagnosis? Hepatitis A which is curable, Thank God!
I know she is feeling better because she is just as ornery and bitchy as she ever was! She is sleeping now and has a head and neck ache from sleeping in those hard hospital beds.
BF is taking real good care of her, Thank God!
DR appt tomorrow, getting stitches out! YAY!

hep A you will need to be given GamaGobulin shot bob....I know I had that shot years ago when friends brother got hep A diagnosis...it is very contagious....
Thanks Billy I will do that!
Isn\'t hep a the type you get from contaminated water or seafood and stuff like that? Feces, not watching hands.. I think it\'s the one you can get if you drink the water and eat fruit and veggies in third world countries. I believe it can also be contagious.
Bob, if that\'s the one I\'m thinking of, it could take 2-6 weeks for symtoms to show up... You might be good since you are on antibiotics, but let the doctor know tomorrow, especially since she was changing the dressing on your thumb.
Many thanks for that info Viv. I will pass that on to the doc. I read on her paper that she got from the doc that it takes 2-4 weeks for it go away. Thats one of the ways you can get it is from contaminated food, yes.
Im glad it was what it was, Bob-now to focus on you again.
Yay for stitches out!!!!!
Be careful with gamma globulin. Find an infectious disease specialist, make an appointment. They know what tests to run and they know how to treat it, should you be found positive to the tests. Family physician isn\'t the way to go with such a potentially dangerous illness. And it is highly contagious: wash hands, use separate towels, etc. Take care. I was telling someone about your thumb reattachment yesterday and she was amazed at your good fortune and the \"magic\" of science. Soon you\'ll be plucking away at that guitar.

Jull - What you said brought a smile to my face, :) I have been doing just what you mentioned. Thanks!
Thanks Dinah! I wish they would take that pin out at the same time but gotta wait for those bones to heal.
Hi! I hope that Thumb of yours will be minus a \"pin\" soon. It must be difficult for you. Time almost stands still when pain is in the mix.....sorry, but you\'ll be better and I think that is THE most important thing, my Friend.
Take care.
