update
So my wife and I were walking (in the rain) and came to the pet grooming sign. We knew the lady who lived there and that she had two Boston Terriers herself. I memorized the phone number and when we returned home, called. Wife asked her where she purchased her dogs and were told there were no more available but lady said wait! I know some people who might have some. She wanted to call around and get back to us. Calls us back in 5 minutes with a list of people who had a litter. One was in the next town over. Guy has just two left, going to look at them tonight. They are not ready yet so may leave a deposit. So there will be plenty of time to grieve. I haven't gotten use to my sweetie being gone. Every time I open the door I look for her to come running to greet me. Then it hits me and my heart sinks. :( I really miss those big eyes following me around the room to see what I am going to do. I miss her hiding under the bed covers when I try to make the bed in the morning only to see her roll over on her back waiting for me to rub her belly before she will get down. I miss seeing her resting comfortably with her head resting on her front paws. I just miss her presence and her company.
I use to work with an old man and after I euthanized my first dog, asked him why dogs had such a short life and he told me, "because if they lived any longer we wouldn't appreciate them so much!"
I think he said it all right there.
