Another day
I spent all weekend sorting through belongings my husband and I had stored in West Virginia while we tried to get stable in Georgia. I have not been able to figure out where "Home" is yet. I am still wandering. That portion of this journey isn't going to be as easy as I hoped.
However, it is funny and not funny at the same time! I was sorting through our stuff; first recalling so many memories as I found things forgotten and things I looked for. For the most part there was more things in good shape than not. But the things that seem to have been invaded by rodents have me thinking about life. Except for my children's "firsts" items (first outfit, first Christmas outfits, Etc) that were lost, it seems that the items mostly used for mice condos were my husband's things. His dresser not mine, his coats, his shoes, his memorabilia...it was almost like the mice needed a warm haven and knew he wasn't going to be needing them. If he had survived another month and made it here with me it would have given me a creepy feeling. After the initial shock I am seeing the situation differently. They needed it and he no longer does. I guess I just need to write this because there was a Divine Power that knew who needed what. ??!!
I knew there would be some loss either way and I am grateful for how much was actually okay after 4 years. I guess some background would make this post have more understanding.
We went to Georgia in October 2011, for a job opportunity for my husband. In the process we met people who were as close to parents as we ever had. We began helping as they (our adoptive parents) were losing everything and Pa Pa was becoming sicker with the cancer relapse. His business partner decided he couldn't be part of the business due to his health. He passed away in April 2014, one year after losing everything . In my quest for Home; I have Granny in Georgia, My brother-in-law in West Virginia, and my children are military and this is making things emotionally confusing. Add to this scenario that I no longer know what I want to "be when I grow up" lol. I am LOST!!!!
