Day 3 of chemo, isolation begins tomorrow. Very conflicted should I be there now what if he needs me later and I have used my sick days up,what to do!  Last night he had a slight fever had to end phone call early he felt very winded.  Am anxious but dreading hearing how the chromosone tests comes out, hating the fact he may have to hear possibly bad news by himself.

Try to get it planned out between being there and on the phone. You might want to go ahead and get unlimited long distance if you do not already have it and if it is a long distance call. Then just figure when you will be calling and when you will be there. I would advise saving the leave time you have for any problems that might arise. Otherwise try to stick to a fixed schedule. The chromosome tests will not change anything treatment-wise that I know of. I am not sure that you have any control over when they will tell him the results, so there might not be much you can do with that. You just need to take it one day at a time, give thanks for it and do the best to make it as positive as you can. He is going to get through it, but it will be a challenge. I think setting up a schedule that he can depend on and that will not eat into your vacation and sick leave time will be very positive at this point. Take care -- dave
