6 more years without glasses

I'm a bit pumped today. I renewed my drivers license for 6 more years. (People in the midwest beware!) With everything else that I have been dealing with you might think it strange that I was stressing a bit about this... but I had two reasons: 1. I absolutely need to keep my independent mobility for as long as I can. 2.I was dreading the eye test. I was afraid that I would be required to wear glasses or contacts to be able to drive. I guess that it's a large part vanity  but mostly I just don't want to make another concession to the aging process. My body is giving me enough grief..I don't need anything else. Actually 3 of the letters on the eye chart were a bit fuzzy... but thanks to a very clear voiced young lady that had taken the eye test right before me, I was able to identify the 3 that were giving me problems. I didn't really mean to cheat but my mind already knew whether the letter was a Q or O, an F or P,  a B or an R ,thanks to her. (I'm a bit surprised that they didn't change charts between applicants) It turns out that I would have passed anyway even if I missed the three letters. It did show me that my left eye is weaker than my right. But I'm legal...even without the young lady.  So one stressor is gone. If my vision starts to fade I will see the eye doc. I know that there are some cool frames and I could be styling...but not today.  It's a beautiful day around here weather wise. In honor of my new license I may have to rent a convertible and cruise around with the top down and wear my NON prescription shades just one more time. In all likelihood though, I'll probably just take a walk. Shades optional. Be well,Tom
