6 Months Down!

I cannot believe its really been 6 months already, its been such a haze and the days have just slipped passed me! All and all, I feel like I have made good progress. I still have my bad days, more mentally then physically I think. I am continuing my therapy, my psychologist said that I am making really great progress and things are starting to come together for me. I'll never forget the first time I was in her office all I did was cry histerically about the pain I was experiencing from my TMJ...so I have definately come a long ways. I dont think anyone around me (besides you guys) can phathom just how much I have changed as a person. I really like most of the changes that have happened actually regarding my mental status...not including anxiety/saddness. I am 21 years old and looking on the bright side of it, I have some major life experience to get through the rest of my life. I dont freak out over little things anymore, bc I remember that in the grand scheme of life...that most of the time these issues are no big deal. Ive learned how to be compassionate about other people and their issues big or small. I have witnessed people...strangers caring for other people and becoming friends even thought they are across the country! I am still so nervous about lots of things! But im trying to remember that "this is life" and this is what life consists of, and that its what I am meant to go through and learn from. I know that I have experienced this so that I will learn something about life, and maybee even though it sounds sick, I should be thankful that I experienced it now at 21 so that i can go through so many years knowing what many dont learn until they are older!  Truth be told, I am sooo not this philosophical all the time! I often fumble with thoughts and words and anxieties and worries, but it has gotten better. But because this is my 6 months anniversary I am trying to focus on the positives. I am officially 50% through this 'set' time of treatment, and if the next 6 months are as progress promising as these first 6 months, then maybee I can say that I truly believe that I will be  "me" again..or better! I really hope that some of the people who are just starting recovery read this someday, and it will help them. I know when I first started there were so many discussions and journals that help me feel better. I am a life long member of DS, and I have made it a priority in my life to always be here for my current PE friends and those who will follow.
