OK, GET READY FOR THE UNBELIEVABLE BUT TRUE STORY OF AN UNFORGETABLE 4th!

Well, felt like Hell, but hubby wanted to go 4 wheeling (translation from hillbilly to real English, ATV riding) down on the river and thru the woods (translation from hillbilly means over rocks that require ropes, woods = brush that Daniel Boone couldn't hack through, black snakes, copperheads, etc. not nice NATIONAL FOREST STUFF).  Now according to "law" which in this area is 30 mins away and doesn't count unless caught, you are to have helmets for 4 wheeler riding and only 1 person per 4 wheeler (hubby & I ride same one).  Yeah, sure.  Mountaineers are always free.....free to be brave, stupid, etc. after this story you figure it out.  ROFLOLsmiley-laughing.gif

OK, so we go down to the area to go 4 wheeling.  All is going well, I figure, relax over the bumps, rocks, briars, weeds, etc. close eyes, breathe deeply, R-E-L-A-X and just enjoy.  So, with my eyes closed, breathing in the fresh air, relaxing and PRAYING TO GOD for all His goodness, concentrating and focusing on how blessed I am, praying for those who come to my mind, I am in another state of complete total relaxtion!  BLISS!  RIGHT?   NOPE, and here's why it ended sooooooo swiftly.

I am as I said totally focused on praying and praising God WITH MY EYES CLOSED and just being so joy filled and WHAM! I am slammed backwards so hard that ALL WENT BLACK.  I grabbed my neck as it was snapped back with great force and then grabbed my forehead.  I slumped forward thinking I'm dying or have broken my neck or who knows what.  YES PRAYER & PRASIE STOPPED AT IMPACT!smiley-yell.gif ROFLOL

Hubby stops immediately, son is behind and stops immediately to check on me.  Hubby is going are you ok?  Are you ok?  I am saying NO I AM NOT OK!  MY NECK!  MY HEAD!

So with a quick look as I am still blinded, no blood, etc.  (This is probably why it is a "law" to wear helmets. ROFLOL)  He said did you not hear me say DUCK?  I said it 2 times!  Of course I didn't hear him say DUCK as I was focusing on praying and praise with closed eyes RELAXING!  DUH

The tree limb (the size of a freaking St. Louis Slugger!) had been at head level and hit me full force.  After hubby realizes I will live, son is dying laughing at me and had we been going faster, I would have been knocked off the 4 wheeler and ran over by laughing son.

We finally stop and rest I take some Excedrin then travel on out of the "woods" aka the great wilderness with no end or humanity.  (Rent the movie DELIVERANCE with Burt Reynolds and you will have an idea of what woods & rivers here really are.  Ignore the people tho as we aren't that bad.)  We then go muddin' (translation from hillbilly to English you find huge mud holes that would swallow an elephant and drive/spin/do donuts in said mud holes with your 4 wheeler to cover yourself as this is "fun".)

SO, would all my dear wonderful peeps like to know what I moral I have learned from this story?

(1) Helmets are a law for a reason   (2) 4 wheeling in the woods/mountains watch closely for low hanging tree limbs and DUCK!  (3) Don't wear white tennis shoes as mud is permanent stain effect.  Lastly and most importantly (4) PRAY & PRAISE WITH EYES OPEN as I did on the rest of the trip OUT! ROFLOL

Love & hugs to all my peeps.  PS-----Yes, God watches over us as I didn't get a bruise or need stitches.  Just a little sore for the lesson.

Ouch, Oh my, you must be hurtin even though you didn\'t get a bruise or need stiches. I\'m nothing too serious happening. I remember riding on 4 wheelers and 3 wheeler, back when they were legal. I went over a huge bump one time knocked both me and my passenger fell off of it, it was fellowed by a big hill which made the 4 wheeler roll back over both of us. Neither of us were hurt too bad, but did have a few scratches and bruises for a while. I hope the rest of your 4th of July was more enjoyable. Take care of you. Much love & hugs. Teresa

Great story. I see you had the forethought to translate, LOL. Sorry about your head (and let\'s not forget about your shoes). In conclusion, glad to hear you\'re okay after that harrowing experience and you lived to tell about. More importantly, you learned some pretty important life lessons. Much love, Liane

Yepper, sure nuff (enough) got me some learnin\'. ROFLOL The duct tape and super glue seem to be still holding the neck in proper place but man is it sore. I\'m not sure if I knocked my brains loose or those are just marbles rolling around in my head. ROFLOL Love to each of you.

mmm mmm mmm. I just dont know about you country folks. Hey DS? We might have to kidnap fic\'s family in the late night hours and heavily sedate them and bring them to an actual TOWN where there are malls and nice restaurants. Then when they come back around from the sedation, they can find themselves at Applebees ordering food like most folks do when they need to get out of the house LOL!
much love crazy sis

And fic? Dont do this crap again, you already know what shape your body is in. If you feel the need to kill yourself you can jump off a bridge or something. You are making me mad with the choices your making, you know I care about you and we cant do what the average joe can do with their body bec we are NOT them.
Why do you think I dont go horseback riding anymore?? Bec it knocked the hell out of my spine and neck and when I got adjusted by my doc it hurt like hell and it never hurts like that.
You best make some better choices I am mad at you, still love you but wanna choke the life outta you right now.

OK, Necie ---- We could probably be easily \"sedated\" by swearing that it\'s some kind a new green that\'s been found in the woods that\'s real good eatin\'. ROFLOL Just fry it in bacon grease, slap it on a plate next to some potatoes & gravy with a couple biscuits. ROFLOL

Got you Necie ---- Yep, the only reason I rode the 4 wheeler is I knew the trail and it is possible to get off and walk if necessary. USUALLY it is a gentle relaxing ride just that freakin\' tree limb. Hmmmm, all healed up tho basically from the excursion.

You wanna know what other dumb stunts I\'ve pulled? CHILD YOU\'D PEE! ROFLOL Like when I first hurt my neck, my entire left side was weak and I limped/stumbled. SOOOOO what did I do, told my mom I was going on a walk by myself in woods and CHOSE THE CLIFF trail as I thought it\'d be pretty. I staggered/stumbled out until I came to the appropriate cliff site, sat near the edge, ate my sack lunch, fed a wondering ant and then proceed to stagger/limp back out to my car. Yep, I get to heaven my guardian angel is gonna be the one with feathers missing from the wings and the banged up halo. ROFLOL

I don\'t do anything I know would be \"truly\" damaging/dangerous that I know in my heart I can\'t handle. But honestly, I do push my limits. I did cart-wheels in the middle of the parking lot at the car show a couple years back. Yep, that was some site! ROFLOL

NECIE- You know I love you gal and would never truly endanger myself....just Irish, and damned and determined to not give in.

Love you bunches & bunches.....
