May 11, Early hour of two am.
Well, I am finally not in pain as much as I was, so I can get on with my life. I am going to start exercising. and I am going to finish my spring cleaning. I am also going to work on my conversion class, now that I can concentrate. YEAY!
I am just amazed at how much better and better I have been feeling this year. Last year was absolutely horrid, and this year just seems to get only better and better, as far as my thinking goes and as far as how well I can handle my life situation. Everything seems so much more do-able now. I feel like I am healing. Mentally and spiritually. I don't feel broken anymore. It is just amazing to me. But I believe in progress not perfection, and I am of the attitude hat I shall take each day as it comes.
Mom and Pa are okay Ma doing a little better over time, Pa mostly the same, but now using a walker, his Parkinson's is insidiously and slowly doing some damage, and I notice the ever-so slight changes in him. I worry for him. Things he used to do for himself he now needs help with. Like making pea soup. He used to make things in the kitchen all the time, but now he needs help.
I have a biggie appointment setup on Wednesday. I leave the house at one pm to get to the pain doctor at two twenty, and then after that at three forty five I have an appointment in physical therapy to get set up with a TENS unit to help with my pain. I am glad for it. I won't have my pick up to go home until five fifteen, and won't get home until six thirty. It will be a long day. When I get home I have to worry about what I will fee the parent units. Perhaps I will make a cold salad ahead of time so they don't have to wait for me. YEs, that sounds good.
On Thursday the cleaning ladies come in the morning, then we have Mom to the neurologist at one twenty. On Friday Papi has the same neurologist, again at one twenty. It is just too hard to take them both at the same time.
I am enjoying this site very much. I will add it to my list of useful sites. I go to Sparkpeople.com to lose weight, smartrecovery.org to help keep me sober, as well as IntheRooms.com, and I enjoy social.onehealth.com for support of all sorts form stress, recovery and pain. There are so many more, but these are the most interactive ones, the ones with people interacting one-on-one, the ones with message boards and chat rooms and lots and lots of people.
I think that the support I find in sites such as these is the reason I am doing so much better than last year: it is the social connection. No man is an island, and I "get by with a little help form my friends." I thrive on the feedback, and I think I have grown and become a much stronger person. Thank goodness.
So tomorrow's drill: 1-while Mom is at her church with Bob, go to the store and get coffee cake, a flowering plant, a card, cherry pie and ice cream. Then come home and cut Dad's hair and trim his beard and get hi a spruced up. 2-enjoy the morning. 3-let Ma do whatever she wants. 4-for dinner, go out and get whatever fast food chicken Ma wants. 5. All day long shower Ma with love and hugs and pampering.
I think I can handle that.
On Monday, I am finally going to put together the six foot cabinet designated for the kitchen supplies. I doubt it will hold everything. But I can always get another one. We have SO much stuff, it overflows into the garage. Putting together the cabinet is part of the spring cleaning I am also going to paint the shelf that is in the garage and put it in the laundry room to use for a pantry.
More ideas will come to me. I have two closets to deal with as well, one in the day room, and one in Papi's room. Those will be a chore. But it CAN be done.
Here's to massive organization projects!

Ayla, I\'m so glad you are doing better this year. Last year was an okay year for me, and this year hasn\'t been too bad. I hope your mom enjoys her Mother\'s day and give her a hug from me!
