10:00 amI am only posting this journal because I feel the need to type. I am not having any extraordinary feelings of happy or sad, so this is going to be a boring journal. Sorry! The most exciting thing is that I had dinner with a friend that I haven't seen in 9 years. We went to high school together and hung out all the time. In 97 we lost contact. I saw her walking through a parking lot once, but never got to talk to her. Then she found me on myspace and we have been talking since then. Well, she came out to the springs to visit and she is going to be transfering her job out here, so she will be moving here in February. It was a nice time. We went to Old Chicago's and had a couple drinks and something to eat. It was nice time visiting and talking about "the days". Hopefully I will get a chance to hangout with her a bit today. She said that she is going to come by the daycare sometime this afternoon, so I will at least see her then. She is leaving to go back to Florida tomorrow morning.Well, that was the highlight of the day. I did get some good news about my sister and her husband. They were planning on moving to Qatar in the middle east for a contracting job, but my BIL got a job that will be in Elk City, OK instead. That was exciting to hear, because instead of being a 24 hour flight away with a 10 hour time difference, they are going to be a 9 hour drive away. WooHoo! This also gives me an excuse to get out of town for long weekends. I will miss them very much, but at least I will get a chance to see them more often then just once a year.I am so glad it is the weekend. I don't really have much planned. So I think I am going to try and get outside with my son and do some hiking and maybe a picnic. I think it is supposed to be fairly warm. I am thinking about gettting a puppy, so I might try to go to pets on parade tomorrow morning. If I could get a small dog that won't run when it gets outside, then I will be set. That was the problem with my other dog. From the day I got her (she was already 2 years old) she ran when she got outside and then you could never catch her. That made it very stressful to even take her on a walk. Just one slip of the hand and she was gone. So I am hoping to find a toy poodle or something like that. It also has to be a dog that doesn't shed, because I am highly allergic.I might try to see a movie this weekend also. I never get to just go to the movies with my son on our own, so that is something I am going to try and do this weekend. I have such plans to do things with my son, lets see if they happen.
