7:15 pmI took a day off today. Well, kind of. I went into work for a couple hours and then left to go file paperwork and see where I could get some help. I went to the child support enforcement center, but they can't help me right now, because the orders in the divorce for child support are too vague. So the first step is to file to modify an exsisting order. That is going to $95 and that is money that I don't have right now. Once I do that, if he is not paying what the judge orders, then the child support enforcement can do something to help me. I told my ex that I hope that he can do it with out being forced to, but I told him that I am going to ask the judge to order a specific amount the he has to give me. This has really caused more distance between us. I told him that I made the decisions on the child support based on us as a couple because he had given the impression that we were going to be together again. Now that it has become apparant that we are not  going to even be together again. So now I have to make decisions based on me as a single person and my son with only one parent. I know he has two parents, but I am the only one that is really active in taking care of him everyday. Anyway, this has been the hardest thing for me to do, because I knew that it would put more distance between me and my ex, but it is the right thing to do. It hurts my heart so badthat we are further apart than we have ever been. it feels like something dark is guiding him away and I am standing here screaming for him to stop going and to come back, but he can't even hear me. I had a parent/teacher conference with my son's teacher today. She said that he is doing really well in everything but his penmanship is sloppy. Well, I know why that is. He gets bored. But she also said that she has a hard time getting him to write his journal everyday. He would rather draw. We also talked about him having an IQ test at towards the end of the year so that he can see if he belongs in the Gifted and Talented program. I believe that he will considering his is in 2nd grade and is pretty much at a 5th grade level for math, a 3rd grade level for reading, and a 5th grade level for science. I think that he is not being challenged enough in his class and they are moving at a slower pace, so he gets bored and then he wants to draw or pick on his arms. It was nice to talk to his teacher and hear about the good things about my son. I could tell that she really cares about him as a student and wants him to be as successful as he can be.After the conference I decided to take the rest of the day off. I left my staff to run the daycare by themselves. I was very nervous, because I hadn't done that with the new staff that I have right now and I don't want the parents to get upset that I am not there. The thing is, I need time off and if they trust my care for their children, they should trust my decisions to hire people to do the job. I didn't get any phone calls, so I am sure it went fine. I had to trust that the staff would still do their best with me gone. What's that saying, when the cat's away, the mice will play. I hope that is not the case. I will keep you all posted on what happens with the child support. At least was a restful day.

The child supprot is a step in the right direction since your ex appears to not be continueing down his own road. My ex has the same way about her. Just not interested anymore. Keep up the good work ~A, your making all the right moves! ~E
