The sermon at church yesterday was excellent. I was fed. I am going to put a little bit of stuff in this journal for those of you who might want to read it. It will benefit you greatly. The sermon was titled "Standing firm through life's storms"
The scriptures that were used for this sermon are as follows:
*Proverbs 10:25 "When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone, but the righteous stand firm forever."
*Matthew 5:45b "[God] causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous."
*Matthew 8:24-26 "Without warning a furious storm came up on the lake, so thqat the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and wok him, saying "Lord, save us! We're going to drown!" He replied, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?" Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves and it was completely calm."
The disciples asked Jesus for help and he helped them in the storm.
*John 14:14 "[Jesus said] If you ask anything in My name, I will do it."
*John 6:19-21 "Wneh they had rowed three or three and a half miles, they saw Jesus approaching the boat waling on the water; and they were terrified. But he said to them, "It is I; don't be afraid." Then they were willing to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the shore where they were heading."In this passage, the disciples were afraid to let Christ help them and he was about ready to pass the boat and continue walking to the other side of the lake where they were heading towards anyway. When they finally let Him helo, the storm stopped and they made their destination.
*Matthew 14:28-31 "Lord, if it's you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water." "Come," He said . Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!" Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. "You of little faith," He said, "why did you doubt?"
In this passage it shows that we can not let things like the storm come between us and Christ. We need to always focus on Christ.
*James 1:12-15 "Blessed is the man who perserveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will recieve the crown of life tha tGod has promised to those who love Him. When tempted, no on should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone, each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death."
*Luke 23:44-46 It was now about the sixth hour, and darkness came over the whole kland until the ninthe hour, for the sun stopped shining. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. Jesus called out with a loud voice, "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." When he had said this, he breathed his last."
Christ had storms in His life.
If we keep our eyes on Christ during the storms of our life, we will come out as better than when the storm began.

Thank you so much for entering all of these wonderful versus. I am facing trail tomorrow of my abuser and I always feel so sick before hand. These versus was what I needed. I like the Matthew 8 particularly.
