Why?

So, I went to a gathering of Hare Krishnas with my neice last night-I love visiting with them they are so inviting and inspirational. The theme of the talk was attachment to things...and how that keeps you from God. I got to thinking about my own life in the past 3 years:  lost my health, my son moved away to college, lost my job, my man, my savings and my home- not sure what else there is really. Why?  Who was I in my other life (I am a true believer in Karma and re-incarnation {personal belief-please do not debate with me} and I do not wanna come back again) So, now, not having felt to close to God as of late, am going to really try to meditate on this premise (or truth) and see how that works for me.  I am hoping for answers to several questions!

I also have strong spiritual beliefs and have done a lot of research on the topic. It\'s the old saying of \"what goes around - comes around\". You\'re only focusing on the negative though. Yes, you lost things but remember that you also found friends here at DS. Thinking of you.

Nemcgrath-

Just a positive thought that came to me as I read this: you haven\'t lost your niece - that\'s a good thing! I know how hard it can be when things pile up so high it seems as though you\'ll NEVER be able to even START digging out - but it always seems to me just about then that someone points out just one or two things I\'ve overlooked, and it helps me to feel somewhat better. Hope I don\'t sound annoying, and I certainly don\'t mean to undermine what you\'re going through right now; I can\'t imagine how hard it must be to cope with all of your recent loss. Just a little sunshine that I noticed while reading, like I said ...

Hope you\'re enjoying your weekend!

XOXOXO,
*Misa*

ps) I\'m going to plead ignorance on this one, but also extreme interest: what exactly are the Hare Krishnas, and what do they believe? I know I can look it up, I\'m just interested in hearing it from someone who is close to it.

oh honey, life is TUFF for you right now.......I cant really get my head round this belief, though love the philosophy in general - non attachment is a difficult one....I believe in re-incarnation as well - I am hoping very much indeed that sunshine, as your friend says, comes into your life again SOON...with much love Cathrynn XXXXXXXOOOOOO

Thanks y\'all...everyone of you is right...sorry I did not mention the love I get from here which means the world to me...and my neice oh my how wonderful she is and such a grand part of my life...

Hare Krishna is an ancient religion brought here in the 70\'s during the hippie movement...which is just ignorance...

oh man, i actually *did* know that - please don\'t *really* think i\'m ignorant! i have never crossed paths with anyone who was currently a part of them, however, and i was not yet born when the hippie movement took place, although i certainly wish i had been, i must say.
