Anxiety

I am so stressed out about my niece. My niece went to church last Wednesday night and did not come home until after 10 pm. Its over at 8PM and it only takes her 10 minutes to walk home. (we live behind the church)Well I went over to the church and  started describing to the 4 people that were there about what was wrong.Well to make this story a little shorter Come to find out she asked this 20 year old boy if he pick her up and take her to his church. Which he did. The pastor of her church called the police and said she was a runaway, so when the cops came to my house (Jessica decided to pop her head in the door about 10 minutes before I got home)He had a serious discussion with her and then  had one with me.I told her that she was not allowed to go back to church until she could prove to me that this will not happen again.I know the boy that she was with and he is a horny  young man. I hope she doesnt turn up pregnant. What am I going to do with this child?!?!?!

Hi Sweetie,
Keep the lines of communication OPEN, tell her that she broke your trust and has to earn it back.
She may not be your biological child but she is YOUR no matter what. Talk to her about how \'Horny\'(lol) guys will just use her to get what they want. If she still wants to go to church, if possible go with her. Maybe have the Pastor talk with her. Jeanne my good friend, raising teenage girls is like walking thru land minds, you never know when one will go off.Taking things away from her may show her that she has consequences. Is there a counselor at her school that you can talk to??? Or a therapist??? I have raised 3 daughters and sure know and understand the anxiety you are feeling..Let me know Hon. Love you

Everything Deb said is correct, that\'s why it posted twice! I have my hands full with my 17 yr old and I know how much hair you pull out, and amount of sleep you lose with these kids today, it can be so very stressful. As much as you want to strangle someone you have to stay calm and like Deb said, keepines of communication open. Also when she wants to go to church can u walk her over, and back if you don\'t want to join her in church? You hang in there, I know its hard, trust me! Just breathe and talk and it will b easier!
Good luck, many hugs!

Gosh I wish I knew, I raised 2 boys, no girls, I think I taught them respect. I did have rules, I never \"gave in\", I demanded respect for my rules. I would express my concern about her safety, she needs to tell you where she is, and if this boy is not respectful, you should taught to him and tell him what you expect of him when he is in the company of your niece.

I am so sorry for everything you are going through. I have a 14 year old who was resently diagnosed with bi-polar and anxiety. There is also a chance of ODD. It\'s been a terrible journey in and out if the hospital. Attacking me and my husband. The constant changing of the medications isn\'t helping. If you need anything please feel free to contact me. And remember you not alone.
